Lancaster and a hedgehog

 Perhaps your preparing for a walking trip around the area this weekend?  Well just double check your shopping bags as Ultimate Outdoors/Black's on New Street, Lancaster (known for stocking various walking equipment) came across a 'mystery shopper' in their store this week - a cute, young hedgehog!  How the male got in is a mystery, but after being taken to local charity organisation 'Wolfwood', we can confirm the hedgehog is OK, a healthy weight and is due to be released back into the wild shortly! 

 

The Bay Gateway and the Penny Farthing

 
Did you spot a smartly dressed gentleman riding a 'Penny Farthing' this week? A number of local residents did and have shared their sightings online, with reports of the unknown man pedalling along the Bay Gateway link Road and A6!  Also known as the 'High Wheeler', this historic form of transport was popular in the 1870s and 1880s and became famous for its large front wheel design that provides high speeds yet maintaining a comfortable ride.  We would love to find out more information of this gentleman....is it you? 
 

Back in Lancaster with Superheros

 
Wham! Bam! Kerpow!...Last Sunday saw a number of familiar Comic Book heroes come to life and take to the Lancaster streets for the latest Lancaster Bid event, 'Super Heroes Days! Various Superhero School Sessions were being held in the former Top Shop store giving youngsters the opportunity to perfect power poses and play games with the likes of Spider Man, Wonder Woman, Thor and Captain America! 
 

Halton and Euro 2020

Today marks the start of the Euro 2020 tournament and the village of Halton will be supporting one of their own, 24 year old Scott McTominay who is set to make his tournament debut for Scotland v Czech Republic this coming Monday afternoon. It is the first time a player born in the local area is featuring in the tournament and win lose or draw, we are sure that the Manchester United midfielder will enjoy the occasion!
