Internet traffic hits a peak in the winter months.   Can you believe 1.6 million people looked on Rightmove last year between Christmas Day and Boxing Day alone!   Rightmove reports that on average traffic is already 27% up on last year.   Our own website also experienced higher levels of traffic too, although locally this peaked on Boxing Day.   Seems once the presents are opened and the turkey is eaten, people like to escape to thoughts of a new home!

More First Time Buyers

There are more first time buyers wanting to leave home in the winter months.  Reasons cited are they feel trapped at home more on Winter nights then they do in the Summer.  Holidays abroad have been taken and new year resolutions have been made to leave home.  They start hunting for their first pad.  Interestingly we sell more homes with small yards in the Winter than we do the Summer!

It’s true.  There are a less properties for sale in the winter months but this also means less competition for your home.  Take advantage of this and make the most of your homes best features.  Light the fire, put the heating on.  Turn and lamps and create a welcoming cosy feel.  Make your buyers feel like they are at home.
