Feel Good Friday in Lancaster and Morecambe

Posted on Friday, February 5, 2021

Welcome to our first edition of Feel Good Friday "We've made it to Friday.  Hurray! The first week of a new month is over and as we gradually edge closer to the warmer, lighter months - this is the place you'll find feel good news from around the UK, Lancaster, Morecambe and surrounding areas.
In this weeks 3 minute read we look at 4 heart warming and slightly amusing stories that have caught our attention this week.

In the national news - a story to make you laugh

What better way to start your Friday than taking part in your work's online team meeting which includes..A GOAT?  If you're finding your Lockdown video meetings to be predictable, dull, and well a little Samey - you can now inject a bit of fun by inviting some of Cronkshaw Farm's finest Goats to take part!  I KID you not!

Lulu specializes in having an interrupting screech (perfect if the meeting looks to be over running!) whilst Lola specializes in dazzling smiles (great to keep your coffee fuelled team motivated!).  This genius idea by Cronkshaw Farm in Rossendale has so far netted the farm a whopping £50,0000! Way to Go-at!!

News from Morecambe Bay

Some wonderful news coming from the dedicated team at Bay Medical Group who (led by Dr Price) recently took part in a Walking & Running 50 miles Challenge throughout January. Raising funds for 'West End Impact' a Morecambe based family support network, the team were joined and cheered on by family and raised in total £2,000! Not for the first time - BMG We applaud you!  We just love hearing stories of how amazing our local businesses are!...

News from Lancaster

With the prospect of Lancaster's Steiner School pupils missing out on their annual 'Traditional Trades' workshops, a team of local craftsmen stepped in to support the school's online teaching by taking part in a variety of Zoom workshops.  Workshops included welding with wood and clay, traditional baking and making wooden instruments.  Thanks to the local businesses generosity the lessons were a great success.  We really are spoilt with the riches of local craftsmen/women in these parts!  (For more of this why not take a look at Totally Lancaster?)

And finally Lancaster charity 'Street Aid' have installed their first cashless donation terminal in which members of the public can donate to the homeless safely.  The first terminal can be found in Dalton Square and we are expecting to see additional terminals appear throughout the city in the coming months.  Another example that not all super heroes wear capes!
