Have you heard about the Tern Project - an activity walk in Morecambe?

Posted on Wednesday, April 8, 2020

Someone once said to me, "there is never incorrect weather, just incorrect clothing!"... Whilst safety must always be observed whilst out walking, I must admit I am inclined to agree with this statement.  Morecambe Promenade offers a wonderful opportunity to stretch the legs and take in some fresh air. On a clear day, the views are pretty awesome too, not to mention some of the best sunsets I have ever seen!
Have you heard about the Tern Project - an activity walk in Morecambe?

So come rain or shine or whatever the season, I've never come back from a walk along the prom wishing I hadn't ventured out.  We are very lucky that Morecambe Bay also enjoys a diverse population of birds and wildlife.

To celebrate this fact The Tern Project is a wonderful selection of award-winning sculptures that can be found on the seafront. Look out for Gannets, Razorbills and Cormorants, created from steel, sitting proudly on the sea railings and the roundabouts on Central Drive.

If you venture down the stone jetty which is behind the Midland Hotel, lookout for a big compass. Can you work out the puzzles you will find?

You can then continue on to the Festival Market. Follow the path whilst reading the poems and quotes and have a giggle at the jokes by well-known authors, artists, entertainers and musicians!
