Welcome to Heysham,  a beautiful coastal village set at Morecambe Bay.   Many people when they think of Morecambe, think of the Power Station and Heysham Port - two large industrial employers in the area.   However, Heysham is far more than that.  This is a village with a fascinating history that dates back to Viking Times.  It is a village which overlooks the beautiful Morecambe Bay and since the opening of the Bay Gateway in October 2016, it has been one of the areas most popular places to live.

Heysham is just a few miles from both Lancaster and Morecambe.  Since the opening of the Bay Gateway, it has become easily accessible from the M6 and as such has become popular with commuters.  This is an area with excellent local amenities and such attracts families.

No.3  The History

Heysham is a village with history which dates back to Roman Times.  Take a visit to The Barrows where evidence of The Stone Man has been discovered and check out the 4 stone graves which are indented into the rock face.  Visit the Grade I listed St Peters church - one of the oldest churches in the area. It still has its Anglo Saxon features.

Take a close look at the old Heysham Village where many of the cottages date back to the 17th century and stop at one of the many tea rooms that can be found in the area.   Heysham village has won Britain in Bloom award several times, which speaks volumes of just how attractive and well cared for this village this.  The history though is part of what makes Heysham special.
