As May begins, this month we are taking a look around the LA1 3 postcode area. We will be exploring what the area has to offer, including green space, schools and of course the property market. As we are still in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic rather than the usual introductory video here is the introduction in written form! 

LA1 3 encompasses the following areas; Freehold, Moorlands, Primrose, Golgotha, Newton and Ridge. 

This is a lovely walk which takes in many beautiful views across Lancaster and towards the Bay thanks to the elevation of many of the paths.

The original intention was for it to be slightly shorter however due to the re-lining of the canal on the Aquaduct and part of the path being closed off, a detour was taken which added to the distance and took us out of the LA1 3 postcode for a little while.

My memories of Lancaster Leisure Park go back to when it was called Hornsea Pottery.  I was a child and visits centred largely around many goes on the Bobsleigh toboggan ride! It was the highlight for me of every family visit.

There was also a lot more to this attraction back in the 80’s in addition to the bobsleigh! Have you ever wondered why it was called Hornsea Pottery?

Welcome to both Primrose and the Moorlands, two neighbouring areas in South Lancaster which are highly sought after and in demand. We are often asked how do you define between the two suburbs.   A simple way is many of the streets in Moorlands are named after Scotland - think Aberdeen Road,  Balmoral Road,  Elgin Street,  and Dundee Street.

Welcome to the Ridge, a popular suburban area of Central Lancaster.  The Ridge Estate and neighbouring Newton Estate are two of the most sought after, ex-local authority estates close to the city.  Despite being so close to the city, this area is surprisingly green, with fields,  Lancaster Canal and woodland all surrounding.
