St. Oggs Road, Westgate, Morecambe

A little about the location

Westgate is a popular residential area of Morecambe. Whilst peaceful it is not far from the Shrimp roundabout making it handy for the villages of Bare and Torrisholme or for travel into Morecambe town centre.

You don't need to travel far if you don't want to though, Westgate is well served with local amenities. There's a popular primary school, parade of shops and businesses with supermarkets and local amenities and a local doctor's surgery amongst many others.

Westgate is best known for its good selection of bungalows but it has a variety of property to suit all markets. Westgate has become increasingly popular in recent years and really established itself as a sought after residential area.

Come on in....

Welcome to St Oggs Road. The main entrance to the side of this home firstly opens into the vestibule where the meters can be found and a further doorway opens into the main hallway.

The hall has access to the ground floor rooms and a set of stairs will lead you up to the extra bedroom and storage on the first floor. The first room we would like to talk about and show you is the main living room.

The living accommodation

We were very impressed with the space the living room offers. There is ample room to relax and unwind here after a long hard day in front of the fire which is to the centre of the room, complete with a marble style fireplace - A lovely feature to have in any home. To the front elevation, a double glazed window allows the light to flood this room, creating such a lovely light and airy feel.

The second reception room is also to the front of the property and had been used as a dining room by the owners. This room was actually originally designed when first built as a bedroom, so if needed could be used as such, creating a third bedroom in the home. If not, this is the perfect space to enjoy a sit down meal in the evening.

We love the kitchen and all its storage on offer. The glass display cabinet on one wall is certainly a lovely feature and provides that extra storage which we all crave. Items which are fitted include the oven, hob and a dishwasher. From the sink area there is a double glazed window which looks out to the side of the home and the kitchen also has access straight into the conservatory.

The conservatory is full of light and style. Just imagine being able to sit in this space reading your favourite novel. Or maybe just simply gazing out on the beautifully maintained garden at the rear. If it was down to us, this is where we would spend most of our time.

Bedrooms and wet room

Positioned on the ground floor is the master bedroom which is to the rear of the home. This spacious double room actually comes with a range of built in wardrobes for all your storage needs. To one corner the owners have rather cleverly designed the wardrobes door to open into the under stairs storage cupboard.

The second bedroom can be found up on the first floor and this room is once again a large double bedroom with built in storage available. The room has a double glazed window which is to the side of the home. Access into the floored eaves space is also easily accessible from a door in the corner of the room and this space also has a light so you can see what you are looking for with ease.

Back on the ground floor is the wet room which has been a recent addition to the home, making it easy for the owner to access the shower area without having to worry about any steps. This room has a three piece suite including the low flush wc, a hand wash basin and electric shower whilst the whole room has been tiled with a decorative border to complement.

Extra storage

On the first floor landing area, before you access the bedroom on this level there is a doorway on your left hand side. Once open, you will find yourself in another walk in storage space which has a further doorway into the eaves for yet again, more storage. This really is so handy to have as we can never, ever have enough storage can we?

Gardens, drive and garage

At the front of the home, there is a real sense that this property has been well maintained. The low maintenance garden has been loved over the years with a variety of mature shrubs and plants offering some colour and kerb appeal.

The wrought iron gates open onto the driveway which continues down the side of the home and towards the detached garage. The garage has an up and over door, along with a set of French doors inside which open to the rear garden. The garage also has both power and light with a further double glazed window to the side elevation.

Once you are in the rear garden you will find a peaceful space to relax in which will enjoy all the afternoon sunshine throughout the summer months. Once again this well maintained space enjoys a variety of mature plants, shrubs and trees.

This residence is delightfully private and has been well maintained by the owner over many years. Enjoying a tranquil setting on a small street of similar styled homes is this 2/3 bedroom semi detached bungalow. The rooms are spacious and there is so much storage. We love how secluded the rear garden is and the garage is also a bonus.
