Welcome! Well what can we say about this home other than WOW! The current owners have lived here for 16 years which in itself speaks volumes. The community, which is made up of several barns , play host to Christmas tree in the square, Bonfire parties and summer parties to name just a few. A little bit about the Galgate area
Galgate is a semi-rural village which is popular with commuters due to the ease of access to the M6.
The village offers excellent local amenities and a very well respected primary school. The canal boasts pleasing country walks, it is close by and is popular with dog walkers and cyclists. There is a local spar shop, hairdressers and The Plough Inn Public house which comes highly recommended!
There is a maintenance charge of £65 a month which covers the external areas being the gardens, play area, lighting, maintenance of the septic tank and communal repairs. We love the fact that several times a year on occasions like Christmas and bonfire night they all come together with the children and have a lovely time all together...They even have their own Christmas tree that all join in to decorate, it's a real community spirit!!!
The ground floor
Upon entering this home you will find yourselves taking a moment and looking at how spacious this home is and how beautifully designed and decorated the present owners have made it look and feel. The floors are tiled here and the walls are a soft cream with a sage feature wall. The generous space allows you to hang coats and shoes, maybe even sit and have a read as the present owners have a chair to do just that here.
The kitchen is accessed through glass double doors allowing the light to enter and keep the space feeling very open. A large table and chairs stand here in the dining room which is open plan to the kitchen with smart elegant interiors and modern finishes sure to impress with integrated fridge, Cooker and combination oven/ microwave, dishwasher and washing machine complimented by granite worktops and white splash backs. The combination boiler is located here.
There is a downstairs bathroom consisting of a sink and toilet just off the hallway. A handy and very spacious cupboard sits here also where the coats shoes, wellies and other items such as your hoover and ironing board.
A few steps down just off the hallway is the beautiful living room. The flooring is solid oak and the wood burner stands proudly in prime focal point of the room. Dual aspect windows allow the home to flood with light and french doors take you out to the first of the gardens/snugs.
The first floor
Up to the first floor is just as spacious as the ground floor. The landing itself plays host to an open office at present. The large window again allows vast amounts of light to enter this landing.
Bedroom one being the master bedroom is placed to the front of the home. The en-suite features a shower, sink and w/c all in crisp white decor. There is a stylish pink feature wall at present in the bedroom.
The second bedroom is a double and looks out over the back of the home. The third bedroom is in the eaves of the first-floor space as is the fourth bedroom. Both would accommodate a double bed and have Velux windows for light and ventilation. We love the verticle monochrome carpets running up the stairs and the landing.
The two gardens and parking
This home is special in the fact it has two gardens and both are great sizes. The first garden is gravelled and paved. It features a little snug where a wood burning stove keeps you feeling toasty in the cooler evenings. The second garden is found just through the gate and is a fabulous size turfed with grass. There is a little apple tree in the corner and plenty of space for the children and dogs to bounce around and play safely and securely. It is a south west facing garden so lots of sun drenches the area. As I said before this home will not disappoint!
