Owen Road is set back from the A6. This home overlooks the grassy lawn and trees which divide this road from the main road. It's on a stretch of road which is not open to through traffic meaning limited vehicles pass the front door.
Skerton is a thriving residential community. The area attracts a diverse mix of people from young couple in starters homes, through to families. The city centre is approximately 1 mile away. Close by there is an excellent range of local amenities. The river and park are both close by for pleasant strolls and are popular with dog walkers.
What we like...
We really like the fact that this home has been improved by the owner. The carpets have just been laid, the kitchen is very modern and both the bathroom and separate shower rooms are also new.
A little about the home
This spacious terrace home is truly wonderful with lots of rooms making it ideal for a family. As you step inside the hallway provides access to both reception rooms with one to the front of the home and the other allowing access to the outside space at the rear. The kitchen has recently been fitted by the owner and offers a good range of storage along with further access to the outside space.
Up to the first floor, the master bedroom overlooks the front of the property and there is a further double bedroom to the rear. There is also a recently fitted modern bathroom suite along with a separate shower room, ideal for families. Once you are up on the top floor you will see that there are two further bedrooms with the larger to the front of the home overlooking the open greenery at the front.
Externally the home boasts a courtyard style are to the front, whilst to the rear there is an enclosed yard with a raised decked seating area and gated access to the rear service lane. This home is double glazed and also gas central heated throughout.
Ground floor rooms
The main entrance to the front of the home opens into the hallway which has been neutrally decorated and allows access to both reception rooms and also the stairs up to the first floor. To the front of the home is the first reception room which will make an ideal living space although the owner has chosen to use the rear reception as the main living area which gives you options.
Once you are in the rear reception room you will see the main focal point is the lovely coal effect gas stove which is set inside the chimney breast complete with a solid stone lintel above which has down lights to create a lovely cosy feel. This room has plenty of space to both lounge and dine and there are a set of French style doors leading you out to the rear of the home. Access to the kitchen can be gained from this space also.
Once you are in the kitchen you will see that there are recently fitted units providing plenty of storage for all your bits and pieces. There is space for a range of appliances along with a built in electric oven, hob and extractor fan. The boiler has also been cleverly concealed inside a matching kitchen cupboard so it blends in nicely with the rest of the units. Access can be gained from the kitchen to the outside space.
First & Second floors
Once you are up to the first floor you will find that there is access to all the rooms available on this level and there is a further flight of stairs which will lead you up to the second floor. To the front of the home is where you will find the master bedroom which has been recently decorated and has a rather pleasing aspect looking out over the front of the home. This double bedroom is a wonderful size and can easily accommodate all the furniture you would expect to have.
The second bedroom on this level is also large enough to accommodate a double bed if needed and looks out over the rear of the home. The main family bathroom has recently been fitted with a white three piece suite which has been partially tiled. One of the added bonuses this home offers is that on top of the bathroom you also have a separate shower room which also offers its very own three piece suite which has been recently fitted.
The top floor is where you will find the final two bedrooms. To the front once again is the larger room which again overlooks the open grassy, tree lined area to the front of the home whilst the second bedroom offers a Velux window the rear. Like the rest of the home both these bedrooms have been decorated in soft neutral tones and offer recently laid carpets.
To the front of the home there is gated access to the walled courtyard style area which allows space to add some potted plants if you wish and access from here can be gained to the main front entrance.
Once you are round to the rear of the home you will find a generous sized yard with a raised decked seating area. The walled boundaries help to make this an enclosed, private space and the owner has recently fitted new timber gates which open out to the rear service lane.
