Where is St Pauls Drive?
Tucked away off Church Avenue and directly behind St Pauls Church, this small street is a hidden gem tucked away in Scotforth. It's quiet location and stunning views are just part of what adds to the unique charm and appeal of this stylish extended home. Scotforth is special. This suburb of Lancaster has very much a village vibe with its picturesque church, highly regarded primary school and an array of shops and stores that range from a traditional post office all the way through to Booths supermarket.
Scotforth is just 1 mile south of the city centre and just under 2 miles from the University of Lancaster. Many of the areas key employers are close by hence it has been a firm favourite with the local residents for many years. Welcome to Scotforth.
What we love
"As I stepped through the gate and walked down the stone pathway I knew instantly this home was going to be special. I felt myelf smiling at the beautifully landscaped garden and couldn't but help admire the stonework and attention to detail.
I stepped through the door into the spacious open plan kitchen diner. The roaring fire greeted me. I took off my shoes and instantly I felt the warmth of the underfloor heating. I didn't want to leave....."
Relax, dine and entertain
St Pauls Drive is unusual in the fact you enter into the rear of the home. Designed and built to take in the views, this is a home where the back becomes the front!
So follow us as we head through the uPVC double glazed door into the most stunning open plan kitchen diner. Take off your shoes and feel the warmth of the underfloor heating as you take in your surroundings. The polished slate floor flows through the kitchen and dining area. This kitchen diner truly is the heart of the home. Gather your family around the large table. Cooking becomes a pleasure when you have a fully equipped kitchen like this. How many kitchens can boast a large wine cooler with a 46 bottle capacity? Integral appliances include both a double oven and built-in dishwasher. Solid Silestone work surfaces compliment the clean lines of the stylish cabinetry.
Head through to the lounge. If the clear view multi fuel stove set into the Italian limestone surround doesn't steal the show, the stunning views certainly will. The large bay window looks out over the garden. Look beyond and the views are breathtaking taking in Morecambe Bay, the south Lakelands fell, Lancaster Castle and the Priory.
Did we mention there is also useful ground floor wc set just off the hallway? Perfect for when you have visiting guests.
Let's go upstairs
Head upstairs and feel your toes sink into the plush carpet. There are 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom to the front with its deep jewelled colours has fabulous views out to the front and is complemented by the warm tones of the wooden floor. The 2nd bedroom, also a double, has fabulous views out over the garden towards St Pauls Drive. Take a peek at the 3rd bedroom. It makes a fabulous study with those inspirational views. Or perhaps it could become a child's bedroom?
The stylish bathroom was new in 2016. Featuring a 3-piece suite you'll want to soak in the deep bath tub at the end of a long day. The shower over the bath is powered off the boiler.
If a garden could sell a home, then this garden would be a great contender. Beautifully landscaped to both the front and rear, and exceptionally private, these beautiful gardens beg to be explored. The garden has been designed and landscaped to follow the sun throughout the day. Enjoy morning coffee on the terrace as you potter around and take time to feed the fish in the raised ornamental pond.
Step around to the "front" of the home. Enjoy the west facing garden. Come the summer it becomes a sun trap with private tucked away patios designed for sitting around the chimnea as you watch the sunset. The child-friendly lawn area is perfect for children to play.
The centrepiece has to be the stunning cedar greenhouse with automatic opening louvres. What will you grow? Step behind the greenhouse and there is a tiered vegetable and fruit garden featuring 3 unusual apple tree varieties, pear and a cherry tree.
The driveway and garage
The detached stone garage is a talking point in its own right. The stone used to build it originates from "Gillows of Lancaster" and was chosen to complement the stonework of St Pauls Church. The lintel and window sill of the garage were originally sited over the factory entrance. The electric garage door is remote controlled. To the side there is off street parking.
