Deby Road is located in the Skerton area of Lancaster. The area comprises mainly of Victorian terrace homes that were built circa the late 1890's. Homes vary from 1 bed through to 4/5 bed properties and are predominately terrace in style. In recent years some new properties have been built. The A6 is close by making this area very commutable and the River Lune runs close by which provides attractive walks. The area also has excellent local amenities close by that includes shops, doctors, dentist and chemist.
Derby Rd is also close to Millennium Bridge, benefits from having residents permit parking and has superb river views taking in also some of Lancaster's landmarks which include Ashton Memorial, the cathedral spire and the town hall clock.
What we like
We really like the fact that this home has fantastic views over the River Lune from the front elevation. You could maybe enjoy breakfast in bed in the morning whilst looking out over the River towards the Ashton Memorial in the distance.
A little about the home
This terrace home may well need updating inside, however the views are wonderful and the size is great.
The ground floor allows you space to relax and dine thanks to the open plan living accommodation and there is a fitted kitchen to the far end of the ground floor which also has access down to the cellar. Once you are out to the rear of the home you will find an enclosed yard with walled boundaries.
Up to the first floor there are two bedrooms which are both large enough for double beds and the room to the front of the home has great views overlooking the River Lune. There is also a three piece bathroom suite which has been partially tiled.
The property is double glazed, gas central heated and is offered for sale with no chain.
The ground floor rooms
As you step inside the home from the main entrance you will firstly find yourself in the hallway which is the perfect space to store your coats and shoes before you step through to the main living room.
The lounge is to the front of the home and offers a bay window which gives the room a real bright and airy feel. The room has been decorated in a neutral fashion and is open plan to the dining room which gives you a great space to entertain your family and friends. There is currently a fire surround to the centre of the room with space to add your own electric fire if you so wish. There is a double glazed window which looks out into the yard at the rear of the home and access can be gained into the kitchen.
Once you are in the kitchen you will see that there is a good range of built in storage available with a mixture of wall and base units along with work tops to two sides. There is space for all the white goods and from the sink area there is a double glazed window which looks out into the yard from the side elevation. There is also a double glazed door which will take you outside and there is a door which will lead you down to the cellar. The cellar is a great space for extra storage and the meters for the home can be found down here.
Up to the first floor
On the first floor landing you will find a storage cupboard which has access to the loft space and there are doors opening to all the rooms on offer.
To the front of the home is where you will find the main bedroom which is a great sized double room decorated in a neutral fashion. This spacious room enjoys a pleasing aspect, overlooking the River Lune and across to the Ashton Memorial in the distance. The second bedroom is also a generous sized room which could accommodate a double bed if required and this room is to the rear of the home. Finally inside the home there is a three piece bathroom suite in white and there is a shower above the bath. The room has been partially tiled and there is a frosted double glazed window the the rear elevation.
To the front of the home there is a low maintenance courtyard style yard area with walled boundaries and gated access. Once you are round to the rear of the home there is an enclosed concrete yard area with walled boundaries allowing you space to add a table and chairs so you can sit out and enjoy the afternoon sunshine during the warmer months. Gated access leads you out to the rear service lane which sometimes has space to park.
