About this home
Brunton Road is one of only a few yellow brick built homes in the area which makes it very distinctive in appearance and also rather appealing. Set back from the road by its small forecourt garden, it is a spacious home with generous room spaces and high ceilings.
The property is believed to date back to circa 1890. The bay fronted lounge features an open coal fire, perfect on these chilly winter evenings. The dining room still has the original built in cupboard. As you look around you'll discover many original features in this home including the original cast iron fireplaces in both bedrooms.
If you need storage, or even a potential hobby room, this home may very well appeal to you. It has a large double basement room. The current owner used to use this as a craft area. It has many possibilities. Take a look.
What we like
We love the double bay window this home home offers, it really creates for a spacious lounge and master bedroom. What makes this home a very interesting proposition though is the huge basement. It offers so much potential and additional space which other homes don't offer!
The ground floor
Step into the entrance vestibule which features the original mosaic tiled floor. Go through into the hallway. The stairs ahead take you up to the bedrooms and bathroom.
The bay fronted lounge is open plan to the dining room. The ceilings are high. You'll be pleased to see the original wooden floorboards and a working open fire. It adds to the character of the home. The dining room features an original cupboard which is set back into the alcove. The warm tones of the pitch pine wood complement the original internal doors of this period home.
The kitchen needs updating. The design is practical, the units functional. The gas combination boiler however was new in 2016. A door leads out to the rear yard.
The first floor
To the first floor there are two double bedrooms, both feature the original cast iron fireplaces and fresh simple decor in pale cream. The large master bedroom spans the front of the home, whilst the 2nd bedroom, also a double has an outlook over the rear yard. The landing features an original built-in wardrobe outside the master bedroom.
The bathroom and wc are conveniently seperate. The bathroom is plumbed for the automatic washer machine and contains an airing cupboard. There is a shower over the bath.
Outside the home
