Greaves is a popular residential area only a few minutes south of the City Centre. Comprising of a wide range of properties from 1 bedroom apartments through to large Victorian terraces it attracts a wide range of buyers. It is particularly popular with families and professionals due to the excellent schools close by and it's proximity to both the hospital and universities.
Dorrington Road is a particularly attractive street and one of the few in the area where Victorian terraced homes benefit from gardens. There are also an excellent range of amenities on hand and regular busses travel along the A6 making it ideal for those who require public transport.
What we like...
We really like how this home offers two reception rooms allowing you the space to both relax after a long hard day and also entertain your family and friends over an evening meal.
A little about the home
The main entrance to this home is to the side of the property and opens up between the lounge and dining room. Buyers will find that the main living room is to the front of the home whilst the dining room enjoys an outlook over the outside space to the rear. The modern fitted kitchen is just off the dining area and has access to the outside of the home.
Once you are upstairs you will discover two generous bedrooms with the master to the front of the home and the second offering a rather pleasing aspect over the rear. The first floor also offers a generous sized three piece bathroom suite in white. Externally there is a small courtyard style frontage, a paved patio garden area with storage and access onto a lawned garden.
Ground floor rooms
As you step inside this home you will find the main living room is just on your right hand side. The room has a real bright and airy feel thanks to the large bay window which allows in plenty of light from the front elevation. There is a contemporary fire surround with an electric fire to offer a warm cosy glow in the evenings. We feel this is the perfect space to sit down and relax maybe with a glass of wine after a long hard day at work.
The dining room is separate from the living room with the staircase splitting the two rooms. Once again this room has been tastefully presented and decorated in a contemporary style which will suit most buyers. This room has an exposed Inglenook style fireplace to the centre of the room with space to add in your own stove if you so wish. There is plenty of space for you to add in a generous sized dining table. Access to the kitchen is just off this room and there is a lovely aspect which looks out towards the garden at the rear.
To the far end of the ground floor is the fitted kitchen which offers ample built in storage and work space to three sides. As you would expect there is space for the white goods you will need and there is also a gas oven, gas hob and an extractor fan above. There is a double glazed window to the side elevation and a doorway opens out to the paved patio garden area.
Up to the first floor
Once you are up to the first floor landing you will see that there is access to all the rooms on offer on this level. To the front of the home is where you will find the master bedroom. This well proportioned double room is a wonderful size and has been decorated in soft, neutral colours to complement.
The second bedroom is also large enough to accommodate a double bed if you so wish however we feel it would make a perfect children's bedroom allowing them ample space to play. A built in cupboard provides extra storage and there is access from here up to the loft space.
Finally to the first floor is the three piece bathroom suite which has been fitted with a three piece suite in white. You will see there is a shower above the bath to give you the best of both worlds and the room has been partially tiled. As you enter the bathroom you will notice a built in storage cupboard which is ideal to store away your towels and bedding and this space also houses the combi boiler for the home.
To the front of the home is a small and walled courtyard style area to set you back from the pavement. Shared access down the side of the home leads to the main entrance and also to gated access which will lead you through to the rear of the property.
The flagged patio garden area for the home is a wonderful space where you can sit and relax during the warmer months thanks to its West facing position. There is also a handy storage shed which offers both power and light and is used as a utility room for the. From here there are steps down which provides access to a lawned area ( the garden is officially owned by the Railway Corporation, however this home has had unencumbered use since the 1970's ) which you can enjoy if you wish.
- Council Tax Band A - Ground floor recently decorated - Worcester combi boiler in the bathroom - Access to the loft is in the storage cupboard in the second bedroom - The owner has lived in the home since he was born which speaks great volumes
